  • Yes I have Mare

  • Please don't approach me in-character, I much prefer to talk about the scenario before we begin.

  • Bisexual

  • I prefer to RP through discord, but I am trying to branch out and do more in-game stuff.

  • If you don't know for sure how I feel about the kink or scenario, please ask.

  • F-list upon request

  • I am willing to RP almost any scenario, since I like to try new things. I think it help character growth, as long as the writing is good enough. (aka messages at least longer than a few sentences, preferably a paragraph or two, maybe more) Just be sure to ask about the scenario first.

  • New Machinist Ivarnaux spent many years as a mage against his will. Now that he's free he's spurned magic entirely, opting to use technology instead. He's got a good idea of how it all works just from observation over many years, but never used most of it himself. Maybe you can help him train?

  • Hatred for the Empire Ivarnaux spent many, many years as a victim of the empire's sciences, being experimented on as a child and conscripted as a soldier immediately after. If you ever plan to strike against them, he definitely wants to be involved.

  • Wallflower Ivarnaux never really learned to socialize. In fact, escaping through Gridania into Ishgard has left him mostly spurned due to his obvious Duskwight heritage. He tries to seem tough, like a lone wolf, but in reality he's anything but that. Maybe you can get him to open up a little?

  • Search for Removal Ivarnaux would do anything to have his tattoos removed. They're the source of all his magical power and he wants nothing to do with any of it. Do you know a way, or perhaps you're willing and able to help him research one?

AU's

  • Captive Soldier - An Ivarnaux who never escaped from the empire. His resentment is nearly boiling over, but believes he lacks the power to resist Garlemald. Could you help him escape? Or perhaps you're one of his superiors, keeping him in place.

  • Failed Experiement - Ivarnaux if his tattoos never succeeded in amplifying his magic. Still the sole survivor of his experiements, yet still useless following them, the Imperials have found other uses for the poor boy.

  • Yanxian Hermit - Ivarnaux is his parents had never been killed in the Garlean invasion and he had never been taken from them. Even following the expulsion of Garlemald from this territory, Ivy and his family continued to live secluded lives. Rarely, he can be spotted by the river, alone. Perhaps all he needs is a friend? He has long wondered what the wider world looks like, though his parents are tight-lipped about anything and everything. Even why his family looks so different fron the typical locals.

Backstory

Born to a mother born into the Ishgardian high houses and a duskwight father who had been little more than a hunter, when Ivarnaux was born he was already guaranteed to stick out like a sore thumb in any society. His family fled Eorzea just before his birth, ending up in the far-flung Doma. Being some of the very few Elezen in the region, they often secluded themselves away, preferring private lives. After all, his mother's family was still looking for her after she had disappeared.Their lives were largely uneventful for a time, living peacefully in their own corner of the countryside, in a mostly self-sufficient way. Because of their secluded nature Ivarnaux didn't have many friends, often befriending the wildlife in lieu of actual people. When he was four, the Garleans captured Doma. His family had been mostly unaware of their approach until the weapons themselves began to fire within earshot. Ivarnaux doesn't remember much of that day. Just one moment. Himself being dragged away, screaming by an imperial soldier. His parents had tried to protect him, father with his bow and mother with nothing but a parent's force-of-will. They died in the attempt.Much of the next year or so is a blur to him. He is kept imprisoned with other abducted children. They hardly speak to each other, having been taught the importance of silence rather quickly. Then one day a Garlean woman he had never seen before walks into their cells. Dressed in white coat and various monocles that drop down from her headpiece, she examines every one of them. In Ivarnaux she finds a match for whatever she had been looking for. She takes him away. Ivarnaux watches the cells disappear behind him. He never sees those children again.According to this woman, Valeria she calls herself, his natural penchant for wielding aether was extremely low, which is why he was chosen. She does not elaborate further at the time, but he comes to learn her mission is this: allow Garleans to wield magic. Of course, the experiments don't begin on actual Garleans, just the closest match. Unfortunately for the young Elezen, that's him.For years after that he's subjected to what can only be described as brutal experimentation. Forcing an aptitude with aether upon someone who naturally lacks it is painful in many ways, not the least of which the way it burns when he tries to contain more aether than he can normally handle. Like he's melting from the inside out.About five years into testing, Ivarnaux is somehow still alive and Valeria makes her breakthrough. Don't put the aether into the boy, just give him immediate access to it once his own runs dry. Instead of infusing Ivarnaux with aether, he is instead tattooed with a special alchemical ink, the same kind used in an Arcanist's tome. The aether is infused into those tattoos instead. It works. Ivarnaux, after five years of trying, is able to throw the most basic fireball.Valeria wants more. He's covered in more and more tattoos until he is strong. Strong enough to cast Flare with a flick of his wrist. Her experiment has been a success. Too great of a success. The first Flare Ivarnaux casts breaks his containment. The second destroys every magitek console in the neighboring room, destroying every scrap of research Valeria had gleaned from him. The third and final destroys Valeria herself. Then he collapses to his hands and knees, exhausted.Ivarnaux is taken into custody by imperial soldiers and conscripted. Even if Valeria's research is lost, the product of it may still be useful to the empire. He's taught to fight by other magical conscripts, how to properly manage his newfound abilities, how to measure his own aether usage. He's turned into an effective weapon. From then until the capture of Ala Mhigo, Ivarnaux served the empire, being stationed in Ala Mhigo afterwards. Detached and numb to what he did, wielding destructive magic he hates, he had long since given up on his own freedom.Until one night he stands guard atop Baelsar's wall at the age of 17. He stares out over the vast green of Gridanian territory and in one of the most impulsive decisions of his life, simply jumps from the wall. The last time he willingly uses his magic is to summon the wind to catch him, ditching his armor as he runs through the forest.By the time he's 20, Ivarnaux lives the same secluded life he once did, only this time in the Shroud. Having taken to a self sustaining way of life, he never sets foot within any major settlements. Two more years pass like this until such time as both his curiosity and fear get the better of him. He knows it's only a matter of time until the Garleans invade Eorzea and he refuses to wield that magic again if it isn't necessary. Ivarnaux travels to Ishgard at the age of 22.Only barely managing to argue his way through the gates, he is granted entry only if he speaks with his mother's family, at their own request, having proclaimed to the guards who she was. He explains his own life, who his father had been, why they had run away. Her family was devastated. Both because she would abandon them, and that she would disgrace them with what they considered to be a bastard child. Ivarnaux is thrown from the estate and forced into the Brume. It doesn't take him long to solve his second quandary once he's in the Brume. How to defend himself without magic. He meets a woman named Hilda, someone very similar to him. She too is the bastard child of a high house, one that refused to recognize her. She directs Ivarnaux towards Stephanivien who excitedly furnishes him with a machinists tools. Ivarnaux learns quickly. He delights in the idea of turning tech against the empire.Years pass and all Ivarnaux does is practice, day-in and day-out. Through the Dragonsong War, through the fall of Dalamud, nothing matters but getting stronger. By the time rumors of another Garlean invasion into Eorzea spread he is a master marksman in his own right, and he isn't going to let that happen so easily. Eorzea is in no position to guarantee its own safety in the wake of the Calamity, so Ivarnaux will do it himself. He becomes a scourge to the imperials, raiding their supply lines, destroying their airships in their hangars, generally being a nuisance while being careful never to target anything that would put him too high on their hitlist. Until the age of 29, when Garlemald actually begins it's assault with the Ultima Weapon, Ivarnaux is a ghost causing nothing but trouble for them, all the while living his same, secluded life.

Basic Character Info

Name: Ivarnaux (Ivy)Race: Elezen, DuskwightAge: 29Height: 6’10Jobs: Machinist / Black MageLikes: Cooking, TrainingDislikes: Magic, The Empire, His Tattoos

Regarding ERP:There's a bit of a thing with Ivy in that he tries to put on a distant, even mean personality. He wants to seem tough. In reality that's anything but true. He's the subbiest man alive, you just need to get past his performance. Which frankly, isn't actually that hard to do. Just consider this worth noting.
